MBBS Course

The most prominent undergraduate medical program in India is the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). The MBBS program is required of all medical students who want to become practicing doctors in the field of allopathic medicine.
It is a bachelor's degree program in the field of medicine. The MBBS program lasts 5 ½ years. This course is divided into 9 semesters and is taught in a semester-by-semester format. For four and a half years, the MBBS curriculum includes both practical and theoretical research, followed by a one-year mandatory internship in various fields of medicine and surgery.
It is an undergraduate medical degree program with a curriculum that includes both medicine and surgery. Despite the name implying two different degrees, there is only one. The MBBS course aims to educate students on surgical technique and medicine research, which can be further divided into two streams depending on which master's program they wish to pursue.
For admission to this MBBS course, students must meet certain eligibility requirements, and the NEET UG medical entrance exam is the most widely accepted by almost all medical colleges in India. For MBBS admissions, there are national and university-level entrance exams, and the process varies by college.

Eligibility criteria for MBBS

Student want to study MBBS course, must complete his/her 10+2 with science subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The minimum score criteria varies, but General candidates must have received at least 50% on the Intermediate test. The minimum percentage needed for candidates in the reserved category is 40 percent.
From the year 2017, no state-level exams for admission to MBBS and BDS courses will be conducted, and all state-level medical entrance tests will be integrated into the NEET examination (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test), which is one of the most sought-after national level examinations conducted by the CBSE board.
A basic requirement for applying medical entrance tests is that the student should be at least 17 years old. Upper age limit, where specified is 25 years.
Written exams usually include questions from physics, chemistry, and biology (botany and zoology). In general, the mix of questions is such that biology, which is a mixture of zoology and botany, receives the same amount of attention as physics and chemistry combined.
If a candidate gives a wrong answer, negative marking is there. This will be stated in the prospectus or knowledge bulletin. A few questions on general knowledge, personality and intelligence evaluation, or the English language can be found on certain medical entrance exams.


How to get MBBS admission?

Admission to a specific course is determined by the results of a national, state, or college-level entrance examination. The NEET UG exam is used by the majority of colleges to determine entry. The applicant should be between the ages of 17 and 25. Other government-aided colleges, such as JIPMER, require students to achieve the highest possible score on the university's entrance exam. Other private colleges accept NEET-UG scores and university eligibility tests as well.
On the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA), the examination-conducting body for NEET-UG, application forms can be filled out and submitted. Candidates will be called to participate in the entrance test after submitting the application form and completing all other requirements, including online correction of NEET-UG forms.
Candidates will be able to take the entrance exam and compete for a prestigious MBBS seat in one of India's renowned MBBS colleges if they have the requisite NEET-UG admit card and other important documents.
After taking the entrance exam, the NEET-UG results will be announced, followed by merit lists with the names of all candidates in the order of merit.
Following the exams, candidates will apply for AIQ and/or State Quota, which will allow them to apply to medical colleges across India or in their preferred state.
The Medical Counselling Committee will release all candidates' AIQ merit lists, while each state's Directorate of Medical Education will release merit lists for the respective fields.
Candidates must register and apply for the MCC's All India Quota process in order to participate in the MCC's All India Quota. Candidates must log in to the website after registering and fill in their college and course preferences.
Students will be asked to lock their options and wait for the seat allocation processes until they have been verified. These options cannot be reversed after they have been locked.
